Below is an example of an SMATV and IRS System installation. Please feel free to make any comments on our contacts page.

SMATV & IRS Systems

The following is an example of some of the work that we do. Notice how we change poor workmanship into more professional, well-arranged installations.

These installations can be conducted for Casinos, Flats, Hospitals and any large abodes.

If everyone in a block of flats or in a complex has a dish, let’s be honest it’s an eye sore. Often we drive around and see complexes that are ruined by the fact that there are so many dishes and antennas all over the complex.

In addition to ruining the complex, the skyline and the environment that you have decided to settle in is also ruined. We are often approached by the committee to implement technologies that replace the need for these multiple dishes within their complexes. People are fed up with the environmentally unfriendly skyline within their residence and neighbouring complexes.

All that is required is One UHF Antenna, sometimes One VHF Antenna and One Satellite Dish. The residence still has all the same benefits and functionality as if they had their own dish.

The photo shows an unprofessionally installed IRS System. This system created massive amounts of interference and we were called in to rectify the problem. We had to reinstall this entire system. It is important to get the right people to complete these installations professionally the first time.

The picture above shows an installation completed for our customer who wanted the ability to change channels on separate decoders for each room. It was also important for him not to have to see the decoders in the rooms. We designed and installed this system in our clients loft.

37 CHANNEL SMATV SYSTEM

Here is the installation process of a 37-channel satellite/ TV reception and relay system we installed using a fibre optic distribution.

We first laid concrete slabs for the dishes (dish farm), this ensures that the dishes are stable to receive a constant and reliable satellite signal.

The next step is to secure the stands for the dishes to the concrete base.

We then fix the dishes to the mounts and align them on the correct satellites. The porta-cabin (seen in the background) was added with climate control for the head-end equipment.

We fitted Quattro LNB’s to carry the 4 states of the signal separately to a multi-switch. This allows the use of multiple decoders per LNB.

It is often overlooked, but extremely important that the dishes are earthed. After all there is voltage going through the equipment. We pulled the fibre through the underground ducting. This was no easy feat as the ducting was full with other cables. The fact that there were so many other electrical cables and the distances the cables needed to be laid (2km), we recommended the client to use fibre optics. We then built a false wall, laid a cable tray to neaten the cables, and then pulled all the cables from the dish farm and neatly and securely attached them to the cable tray.

The cables have been labelled and terminated to an earth bar.

All the equipment is neatly mounted to the false wall. When doing this kind of installation it is important to leave room for expansion. On the right you can see the digital free-to-air satellite receivers, on the left you can see the modulators and channel amplifiers.

This picture shows the fibre optic distribution.

The pictures above show connecting and balancing of all the 37 channel amplifiers. The balancing is a delicate process that needs to be done precisely to ensure that all the channels have the best picture quality.

The above picture shows the 37-channel head end completed. The monitor in the picture is used as a testing tool when changes need to be made to the system. This works very effectively in our handover process to the client when training and explaining how the system works.

As you can see the installation is professionally completed. Everything is laid out and labelled correctly; this ensures that should there be any problems or future expansion these can be carried out easily and efficiently. Saving you time and money.
